7. Tehachapi Winery Day Trips

This hidden gem is just less than 2 hours North of Los Angeles.

We were very pleasantly surprised to find this region has it’s own selection of wine tasting rooms and vineyards.

I noticed that they all seemed to have an element of entertainment whether it was live music or food trucks or another food specialty option, making them a bit more lively than many other wine tastings we’ve been to.

Our favorites are Triassic Vineyards and Tehachapi Wine and Cattle Company.

Some more wineries in the area include Rancho De Los Viajeros Vineyard, Stray Leaves Vineyard, and Tehachapi Winery.

8. Santa Ynez Valley Winery Day Trips

The Santa Ynez Valley is starting to get a bit far for a day trip, but depending on where you’re starting in the LA area it can still be reasonable for just one day.

From Downtown LA it’s about 2 1/2 hours away.

This charming valley is located just north of Santa Barbara.

Our favorite place to visit up here is the Danish town of Solvang.

They have about a dozen tasting rooms all within a couple blocks of each other.

Or you can venture out to the wineries of Los Olivos and Santa Ynez.

This region is up there with Temecula as being one of our favorites for having wines that we genuinely enjoy.
