Bryan’s Spanish Cove Resort looks straight out of Pirates of the Caribbean.
It’s only about a 10 minute drive to Disney Springs and about a 15 minute drive to the Disney World theme parks.
This resort is very small, made up of just a handful of buildings, but the lakefront amenities and the size of the 2 bedroom suites just can’t be beat at this price point and proximity to Disney.

Bryan’s Spanish Cove 2 Bedroom Review
Bryan’s Spanish Cove gets it’s name from being a lakefront resort of Little Lake Bryan.
It’s also the sister resort of Grand Beach, so you can use amenities and participate in resort activities at that resort too during your stay.
This resort is quite small, with only a handful of rooms, but that tends to make it a quieter resort.
If you’re staying in a ground floor room, you can definitely hear the floors creaking when people are walking above you, but it’s not too much of a nuisance unless you get some extremely obnoxious upstairs neighbors.
You’re also able to park wherever, but since there isn’t a ton of parking, you might not get a spot directly in front of room, but you shouldn’t need to go too far since it’s such a small resort.
Now let’s get into what the rooms are like!
Living Room
The living room is sort of like a sunken living room since it’s a step down from the kitchen.
It has a fireplace, which is quite rare in Florida.
I also like that there is a desk in the living room for those of us who tend to take work-cations.
The living room furniture and tv are in just a small corner of what is the overall living room, but I liked this set up a lot.
From the living room, you have direct access to the outdoor patio.

Kitchen
The kitchen is so open and has a good amount of counter space.
It’s a full kitchen with a refrigerator, freezer, sink, dishwasher, microwave, stove top, and oven.
It also comes stocked with all the dishes, silverware, and cookware you might need.
There are also additional items like Crockpots and bakeware that you can request from housekeeping.
The dining table is also part of the kitchen and it seats 5 people.
In what looks like a closet off of the kitchen, there is actually an in-unit stacked washer and dryer, so it’s very convenient to do your laundry too.
Primary Bedroom
This room has a king sized bed, a tv, nightstands with built in outlets, and it’s own ensuite bathroom.
Primary Bathroom
This bathroom has the vanity, toilet, and shower all in one room behind one door.
Many other resorts with similar two bedroom layouts tend to have the toilet in it’s own room, but this worked perfectly fine for us.
The water pressure in the shower was great and the water heated up quickly and stayed hot!

Secondary Bedroom
When you walk into the unit, just off to the right of the front door is the secondary bedroom.
This room has 2 twin sized beds, a nightstand, a tv, a closet, and it’s own bathroom.
Secondary Bathroom
The bathroom vanity is just outside of the bathroom and is in an open space.
The rest of the bathroom – the toilet and the bathtub – is behind it’s own door.
It’s not very big, but it’s updated and modern.
Screened In Patio
Something I don’t think I’ve ever had in another resort is a screen in patio and an outdoor patio.
You can access the screened in patio from the primary bedroom and from the outdoor patio.
It has a table and chairs and it’s great way to enjoy the fresh air while also being protected from bugs and other animals.
Outdoor Patio
The outdoor patio was such an unexpected perk.
There is a picnic table with an umbrella and the patio itself is quite large.
It’s a great outdoor space!

Pool and Lakefront Amenities
Just off of the lobby of the resort is a decent sized pool and hot tub.
These both overlook the lake!
The resort offers kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, and other ways to enjoy your time out on the lake.
Just ask at the front desk.
The sunrise and sunset views are so nice.
The resort’s sister resort, Grand Beach, which is next door, has events and activities every day that you can participate in while you’re staying at Bryan’s Spanish Cove.
Fun Things To Do Near Orlando
You’re most likely in the area to visit the theme parks – Disney World, Universal, and/or Sea World.
Which I 100% recommend if you’ve never been to any of them.

I grew up vacationing at Disney World a couple times a year, interned there 3 times, and my family currently works there, so I know a little bit about it 😉

If you’re open to taking a day trip, the Kennedy Space Center is nearby (over by Cocoa Beach and Port Canaveral).
There is so much to do there that it feels like you’re spending a day at a theme park.
You can even have lunch with an astronaut!

Something I like to do when I travel is resort hop – stay in one place for a few days, then go check out another resort.
I like to do this for the logistics of staying near the things I want to do during one portion of the trip and then moving to be near the things I want to do later.
But it’s also fun to just check out different resorts, their amenities, and have new surroundings.
Honestly, if you’re able to afford staying on property at Disney World, I recommend that above anything else because of all the perks that come along with it.
But if you’re not doing that, these are the next best resorts.
They have their own mini water park and free mini golf and surrey bike rentals, so it’s a great resort for a relaxing day of just hanging out.
Cypress Pointe (Best For Disney Springs, Pool Day, and Affordability)
Cypress Pointe is interesting in that their studio suite is more like a honeymoon suite.
The shower is just behind frosted glass and there’s a huge jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room.
So it’s great for couples, but not necessarily for families, unless you just have a toddler or something.
You’d have to upgrade to the 2 bedroom suites to get that extra privacy.
But, they have a great volcano pool and I was actually chosen as a guest of the day one time and got a cabana for the day for free!
This is where I stay the vast majority of the time because it’s less than 10 minutes from Disney Springs and it’s consistently the cheapest.
Grand Beach (Great For Resort Activities)
Grand Beach looks like Disney’s Grand Floridian from a distance and I’m sure there are some international travelers or unfamiliar travelers that might see it online and think it’s the same thing, but it unfortunately is not.
It’s still a great resort in close proximity to Disney, with nice pools, and fun recreational activities like water aerobics.
The 2 bedroom suite is great and very spacious.
Hilton Grande Villas (Best Hot Tub & Bathroom)
These are actually just on the other side of the street from Cypress Pointe.
It’s a little bit nicer overall, but these resort will share their amenities whenever there are any refurbishments, which is a nice perk, especially if something goes down last minute that they didn’t plan for.
I honestly only stayed here once because Cypress Pointe is cheaper and just across the street, so it usually makes more sense for me to stay there instead, but I’m glad I stayed at least once to experience it.
Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club (Best Overall)
Mystic Dunes is kind of like Hilton’s flagship resort in the area.
It’s only about a 15-20 minute to the various theme parks, but the resort is in an area that really feels like a resort.
It’s spread out over dozens of buildings, a golf course, and multiple pools.
All of the rooms are spacious and modern and it’s just everything you expect from a resort in Florida.
Most of the time, if I’m not staying at Cypress Pointe, I’m at Mystic Dunes.
Orbit One Vacation Villas (Best for Animal Kingdom)
Orbit One Vacation Villas are right outside of Animal Kingdom and just conveniently located to a lot of restaurants right outside of Disney.
The resort itself looks older, but the rooms are updated with a mid-century modern + space travel theme, which was really fun.
You’d think you’re in Palm Springs!
Parkway International Resort (Best for proximity to all Disney parks)
Parkway International Resort is just south of Disney World, only about 15 minutes from the theme parks.
The resort itself is older, but the rooms are updated and modern with new appliances and furniture.
I loved the spaciousness of the unit, it’s proximity to everywhere I wanted to go, and of course the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom.
Conclusion: Bryan’s Spanish Cove Review
If you’re a Pirates of the Caribbean fan, this is a great resort to stay at that is much more affordable than staying on Disney World property.
For the same price as a standard hotel room, you’ll get to stay in a 2 bedroom suite with 2 full bathrooms and a full kitchen.
The lakefront amenities and the pool overlooking the lake just can’t be beat.
Plus, this is a small, quaint, and quiet resort just 10 minutes from Disney Springs!
