We have never had a better date night than an Airbnb style stay that is also an escape room just for couples.
Can you believe it’s right here in southwest Ohio?!
The “night in Paris” theme was so fun.
We found hidden tunnels and stairs that led to secret rooms, including one of my favorite spa experiences.

Night In Paris Themed Overnight Couples Escape Room Experience
Here’s how it works:
Romantic Adventure Getaways is an Airbnb-style overnight experience set inside a historic home that has been converted into an immersive escape room hotel for couples.
The home is divided into three separate themed suites: Wizard Romance, Treasure Island, and A Night in Paris, which is the suite we stayed in on this visit.
Check-in begins as early as 5:00 p.m. and you’ll be given a code to get in and go straight to your room.
When you enter, you’ll have access to the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen right away.
White flower petals will lead you to your first clue when you’re ready to begin, and from there, you follow clues and puzzles that unlock secret passageways, hidden rooms, and interactive activities all throughout the suite.
Once you make it through a handful of clues, which should take about 1 1/2 – 2 hours, one of the notes will let you know that it’s a good stopping point to go out and enjoy dinner or even order in dinner.
We personally have always eaten beforehand and have just brought snacks or leftovers in case we get hungry.
If youโre arriving later than 5 pm, it makes more sense to eat beforehand.
On this stay, it took us about 4-5 hours to get through all the clues and unlock all the secret rooms.
One of my favorite small touches throughout the experience is the hidden stashes of Hersheyโs Kisses.
Youโre greeted with some right when you enter, and more are tucked away in different spots throughout the suite.

Main Rooms
When you first enter the Night in Paris suite, several of the main rooms are accessible right away.
The layout opens into a hall of mirrors themed bedroom, a Paris-inspired kitchen with a cafรฉ style breakfast nook, and a full bathroom off of the kitchen.
Hall of Mirrors Bedroom
It is modeled after the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles.
The bed itself is styled to resemble a Marie Antoinette inspired cake.
One optional add-on allows the hosts to arrange rose petals on the bed, whether itโs your names or a custom design, which is a personal touch we have chosen for each of our stays and always enjoy.
The bedroom also has a tv, and lots of outlets.
Kitchen
This is a large, open-concept kitchen with an island.
One of the standout features is a full wall mural of the Eiffel Tower, which doubles as a photo backdrop.
A phone holder is set up in front of the mural so you can have a little photoshoot with it.
The kitchen is stocked with some basic snacks, typically including popcorn, Cheez-Its, salted peanuts, coffee, and tea.
It also includes a full-size refrigerator and freezer, microwave, stove, oven, dishes, and utensils in case you want to cook a romantic dinner.
Parisian Cafe Breakfast Nook
In the far corner of the kitchen there is a Parisian cafรฉ themed breakfast nook set up for two.
There were berets placed at each seat and I wore mine all throughout the suite while we were solving puzzles.
Parisian music plays in the background when you’re in the room since everything in the suite has motion sensors and timed triggers.
Bathroom
The bathroom you have access to right away is a standard half bath with a toilet and sink.
Itโs styled to match the Parisian theme of the suite, but this space is more functional than elaborate.
It is stocked with a few extra amenities, including items like Q-tips and a hairdryer, which was convenient to have on hand.
The shower though is located in a separate room that is unlocked later as part of the escape room experience.

Secret Rooms and Activities
What truly sets Romantic Adventure Getaways suites apart from a typical overnight stay comes now as you start solving clues to unlock secret rooms.
Each room is filled with couples-focused activities and interactive experiences.
Below is a breakdown of the secret rooms and experiences youโll unlock throughout your stay, in the order you encounter them.
Queen’s Rose Garden Sauna
One of the first secret spaces you unlock is the Queenโs Rose Garden Sauna.
This room combines a jacuzzi-style bathtub, a waterfall shower, and a sauna into one.
Later on, youโre given time to circle back and actually relax and enjoy the sauna and other features, so don’t worry about feeling like you need to experience it all right away.
Reiki Massage & Aromatherapy Room
To access this room, you unlock a hidden passageway underneath the kitchen island.
Once inside, youโre guided through instructions on how to give each other a Reiki massage.
The room is set up with two aromatherapy diffusers, giving you the option to choose between sandalwood or peppermint.
We ended up using one diffuser for each of us so we could experience both.
There are also several massage accessories you can use, including scalp massagers and a heated eye massage mask.
The eye mask gently massages around your eyes and plays music at the same time.
This ended up being one of my favorite parts of the entire experience, along with the essential oil diffusers.
Earlier in the stay, youโre provided with soft, plush robes that you can wear throughout the experience, which was perfect for this room.
You can spend as much or as little time as you want on each activity.
Once youโve completed all of the puzzles and reached the final clue, youโre free to return to any of the rooms and enjoy them again.
Beauty and the Beast Selfie Challenge Room
Each suite includes a selfie challenge room, where you get to dress up, use a themed backdrop, and recreate a specific photo together.
In the Night in Paris suite, this challenge is clearly inspired by Beauty and the Beast.
While they can’t use the official name for licensing reasons, the theme is easy to recognize.
The room is set up with a backdrop and a ring light where you can place your phone to take photos.
There are multiple sizes available for Belleโs dress and the Beastโs tuxedo, along with a few accessories you can add to the outfits.
Once youโre dressed, youโre given a specific pose to recreate for the challenge.
In a previous stay in the Genie Romance suite, the selfie challenge was inspired by Aladdin, and getting to dress up as Jasmine and Aladdin was just as fun, so it was nice to see how each suite puts its own spin on this activity.

Zero Gravity Massage Chairs at The Louvre
This room features zero gravity massage chairs, which we had also experienced in the Wizard Romance suite, and they were just as much of a highlight this time.
I absolutely love these chairs.
Honestly, I need one of these at home.
I would use it all day every day.
There are multiple massage settings to choose from, so you can customize the experience depending on what kind of massage you want.
I enjoyed this room so much that I came back the next morning before we checked out just to get in another 30-minute massage.
The room itself is themed after the Louvre, with artwork displayed throughout that you would recognize from the real museum.
Moulin Rouge Experience
The Moulin Rouge room is set up as a small performance space, with a stage area and a sturdy metal hoop used as part of the activity.
The room includes a variety of accessories and costume pieces you can use to dress up before starting.
The activity here is all about putting on a short show for each other.
Youโre given instructions that walk you through several basic dance moves inspired by classic Moulin Rouge style performances.
If youโre familiar with the movie or the musical Chicago, thatโs the music used for this part of the experience.
Each person performs for a few minutes, and the challenge itself is very straightforward.
Youโre only required to complete a small number of moves, around four or five, to finish the activity.
From there, how much you dress up, perform, or keep going is completely up to you.
You can stick to the basics or lean into it more by playing different music and using the props longer if you want.
Salvador Body Paint Room
The final main room you unlock is the Salvador Body Paint Room, and it includes two different activities.
The first is the body painting experience.
The room is set up with a large canvas, towels, and warmed body paint.
On the wall, there are examples showing different ways you can use your bodies to create designs on the canvas, along with tips like not mixing too many colors together so everything doesnโt turn brown, and different ways to roll or move to get better patterns.
We had already done the body painting activity during our stay in the Genie Romance suite, so we didnโt repeat it this time, but it is a fun experience.
I actually preferred the setup in this suite because the room is much larger and more open. In the Genie Romance suite, the body paint room is more enclosed, so this felt like a better layout for an activity that can get messy.
Hand Molding Activity
The second activity in this room is a hand molding experience, where you create a clay mold of your hands together.
This is an optional add-on activity you can choose during booking.
When you fill out your reservation, youโre asked to share a favorite song.
On our very first stay in the Genie Romance suite, we chose โMessage in a Bottleโ by Taylor Swift because itโs JPโs favorite Taylor Swift song, and for that stay I didn’t tell him what we were doing and it was a complete surprise for him.
Each time weโve stayed since then, that song has been used again as the surprise song in different rooms.
For this suite, you unlock a hidden slide that drops you directly into the Salvador Body Paint Room, and once you enter, your chosen song starts playing.
This room connects directly back to the Queenโs Rose Garden Sauna, which makes cleanup easy after the body paint activity.
After finishing here, we went back to enjoy the jacuzzi for a bit and then circled back to some of our favorite rooms to repeat the activities we liked most.

Tips To Enhance Your Romantic Adventure Getaways Stay
If your spouse enjoys surprises and is open to going along with something unexpected, I highly recommend booking this as a surprise and not telling them ahead of time that itโs an escape room hotel.
Our first stay was a surprise, and it made the experience even more fun.
That said, use your best judgment here.
If surprises or puzzles would stress your partner out, itโs better to set expectations in advance.
Make sure your phone is fully charged before you arrive.
Throughout the experience, if you get stuck on a puzzle or clue, youโll scan QR codes to receive hints, similar to how a traditional escape room would work.
Since this is a private suite, there isnโt anyone watching or guiding you in real time, so your phone is essential.
Youโll also likely want it charged for photos and videos since the experience lasts several hours.
Wear something comfortable.
Youโre given robes to wear during your stay, which are great for the massage rooms and zero gravity chairs.
Wearing pajamas, sweats, or other comfortable clothing makes it easier to get around the stairs and tunnels.
While the suite includes some snacks and drinks, we recommend bringing extra water or beverages.
They provide two small waters and two small apple juices, but I personally drink a lot of water, so having extras on hand was helpful.
Since this suite has a full kitchen, you can also bring food or plan a simple meal if you want to stay in for dinner.
Plan to use as much of your time as possible.
You have access to the suite from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. the next day, so arriving earlier rather than later helps you get the full experience without feeling rushed.
Finally, consider doing the add-ons.
Options like the hand molding activity, body paint experience, and rose petal personalization are all extras you can choose during booking.
If this is your first visit, or if it might be your only visit, I recommend doing all of the add-ons to fully experience everything the suite has to offer.
