Parkway International Resort Review

Parkway International Resort is conveniently located just 10-15 minutes away from the Disney World theme parks.

It’s an older resort for sure, but the furniture and kitchen appliances are all updated and modern.

All the resort amenities you’d expect like a pool, resort activities, tennis courts, and more are all available here.

My favorite part about staying here though is having a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen and in-unit laundry for the same price as a standard hotel room!

Parkway International Resort 2 Bedroom Review

I decided to stay a couple nights at Parkway International because I had Hilton points to use up that were going to expire soon and I always try to stay somewhere new every time I travel.

This was one of the few Orlando resorts I hadn’t been to yet and thankfully I was able to book a stay here because just a few weeks after, Hilton announced they would no longer be managing this resort.

So when you come here, it’ll still look and feel the same, it’ll just be under different management.

Not only is the resort so convenient for a Disney World vacation, there are also an insane number of restaurants just outside the resort, with pretty much every cuisine around the world.

Living Room

So when you first walk in to the room, it’s a pretty open layout, leading directly back to the living room.

The side table by the couch has built in outlets to charge 2 devices with a wall plug and 2 devices with a usb port.

The bedroom night stands have these too, which are so convenient.

Having the ottomans to prop my feet up were also nice.

There’s a dining table that seats four, as well as a breakfast counter with 2 additional seats.

Kitchen

In the back of the kitchen is a small washer and dryer – enough for maybe 1 person’s clothes for about a week or less.

The kitchen appliances are all updated and modern, which was nice since one of the days I was staying here I was working all day and was cooking in the room.

They also left us a list of additional cookware, bakeware, and small appliances that housekeeping could bring to us if needed like Crockpots and baking tins.

The amount of counter space was also nice.

Everything we needed was fully stocked like laundry detergent for the laundry, dish washing pods for the dishwasher, dish soap and a scrubby for cleaning the dishes, coffee and creamers and sugar for the coffee, etc.

Primary Bedroom

The primary bedroom has a king sized bed and a decent sized tv.

The nightstands have built-in outlets, so you can charge all of your devices.

This room also has sliding door access to the balcony.

The bed was comfy and sturdy and the pillow were very fluffy without caving in.

Primary Bathroom

I always love a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub!

The bathroom vanity is also spacious enough for 2 people to get ready at the same time.

The toilet is in a small room with it’s own door just to the right of the bathroom vanity.

Something I always review in every resort stay is the water pressure in the shower, because it is the most important part of the shower (except for cleanliness).

I can report that the water pressure here is good!

It’s not the greatest ever, but it’s better than average.

Secondary Bedroom

The second bedroom has just 2 twin beds and it’s own tv.

It’s a great kids room and it’s all the way on the other side of the unit!

Secondary Bathroom

This bathroom was pretty standard.

It’s nice having 2 full bathrooms in one unit though to make it easier for more people to get ready at the same time or to use as a guest bath when you have others visiting.

Wet Bar

The wet bar is another indicator about how old this resort is.

It’s not stocked with anything, but it’s a nice little touch.

Balcony

I never really use the balconies much at any of the resorts I stay at, but since this one stays in a shaded area pretty much all day, it’s a bit more tolerable without getting overheated.

It has a ceiling fan too to circulate air if needed or you could always leave the door cracked open for a breeze.

I did like that it was screened in to keep the bugs and animals out.

Fun Things To Do Near Orlando

You’re most likely in the area to visit the theme parks – Disney World, Universal, and/or Sea World.

Which I 100% recommend if you’ve never been to any of them.

I grew up vacationing at Disney World a couple times a year, interned there 3 times, and my family currently works there, so I know a little bit about it 😉

If you’re open to taking a day trip, the Kennedy Space Center is nearby (over by Cocoa Beach and Port Canaveral).

There is so much to do there that it feels like you’re spending a day at a theme park.

You can even have lunch with an astronaut!

More Of Our Favorite Orlando Resorts

Something I like to do when I travel is resort hop – stay in one place for a few days, then go check out another resort.

I like to do this for the logistics of staying near the things I want to do during one portion of the trip and then moving to be near the things I want to do later.

But it’s also fun to just check out different resorts, their amenities, and have new surroundings.

Honestly, if you’re able to afford staying on property at Disney World, I recommend that above anything else because of all the perks that come along with it.

But if you’re not doing that, these are the next best resorts.

Aqua Sol (Best for Animal Kingdom and Overall Resort Amenities)

Aqua Sol is on the far western end of the Orlando, behind Animal Kingdom.

I like to stay here on days I’m not going to the parks or if I’m just going to Animal Kingdom.

They have their own mini water park and free mini golf and surrey bike rentals, so it’s a great resort for a relaxing day of just hanging out.

Cypress Pointe (Best For Disney Springs, Pool Day, and Affordability)

Cypress Pointe is interesting in that their studio suite is more like a honeymoon suite.

The shower is just behind frosted glass and there’s a huge jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room.

So it’s great for couples, but not necessarily for families, unless you just have a toddler or something.

You’d have to upgrade to the 2 bedroom suites to get that extra privacy.

But, they have a great volcano pool and I was actually chosen as a guest of the day one time and got a cabana for the day for free!

This is where I stay the vast majority of the time because it’s less than 10 minutes from Disney Springs and it’s consistently the cheapest.

Grand Beach (Great For Resort Activities)

Grand Beach looks like Disney’s Grand Floridian from a distance and I’m sure there are some international travelers or unfamiliar travelers that might see it online and think it’s the same thing, but it unfortunately is not.

It’s still a great resort in close proximity to Disney, with nice pools, and fun recreational activities like water aerobics.

The 2 bedroom suite is great and very spacious.

Hilton Grande Villas (Best Hot Tub & Bathroom)

These are actually just on the other side of the street from Cypress Pointe.

It’s a little bit nicer overall, but these resort will share their amenities whenever there are any refurbishments, which is a nice perk, especially if something goes down last minute that they didn’t plan for.

I honestly only stayed here once because Cypress Pointe is cheaper and just across the street, so it usually makes more sense for me to stay there instead, but I’m glad I stayed at least once to experience it.

Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club (Best Overall)

Mystic Dunes is kind of like Hilton’s flagship resort in the area.

It’s only about a 15-20 minute to the various theme parks, but the resort is in an area that really feels like a resort.

It’s spread out over dozens of buildings, a golf course, and multiple pools.

All of the rooms are spacious and modern and it’s just everything you expect from a resort in Florida.

Most of the time, if I’m not staying at Cypress Pointe, I’m at Mystic Dunes.

Orbit One Vacation Villas (Best for Animal Kingdom)

Orbit One Vacation Villas are right outside of Animal Kingdom and just conveniently located to a lot of restaurants right outside of Disney.

The resort itself looks older, but the rooms are updated with a mid-century modern + space travel theme, which was really fun.

You’d think you’re in Palm Springs!

Conclusion: Parkway International Resort Review

While the resort itself is a bit older and some of the room features seem old too, all the furniture and kitchen appliances are updated and modern.

The location is so convenient for a Disney World vacation!

It’s also great for getting the space of a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen and in-unit laundry for the same price as a typical hotel room anywhere else.
