LIGHTS OUT Fearplex Halloween In Pomona
Here are some of the must do’s when you attend LIGHTS OUT.
1. Zombie Escape Maze
There are 3 haunted mazes here and I highly recommend checking out each one because the themes and experiences are quite different.
In the zombie maze, the goal is to make it out without becoming a zombie yourself.
2. Carnival Of Evil Maze
Another maze is the Carnival of Evil Maze.
This is not your typical cutesy carnival or circus.
Think themes like clowns, circus freaks, blood-red cotton candy, and more.
3. Nightmares Maze
Lastly, the third maze is the Nightmares Maze.
This maze features all the monsters and creatures that haunt you in your sleep.
Our Youtube video linked at the top of this post shows each of these mazes, giving you a better idea of what to expect!
4. Horror Characters & Movie Monsters
Out roaming the streets you’ll find your favorite horror character and movie monsters.
Be sure to post your pics after use the hashtag #FearplexLIGHTSOUT so they can see your photos and possibly share them.
5. Wax Museum
One of the interactive fright experiences at LIGHTS OUT is their monster wax museum, which looks so real.
You’ll see all your favorite horror and thriller movie characters here.
6. Creepy Graveyard
Another section of the event has a creepy graveyard walk through experience.
You’ll find some nods to Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion in here which was a fun surprise.
7. eTerror
In the eTerror section you can enjoy some of the best horror-themed video game and VR experiences, including taking a ride on a virtual adventure.
8. Scare Zones
If you’ve been to any of the theme park Halloween events like Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios or Fear Fest at King’s Island, you can get a good idea of what scare zones are like.
These are designated open areas that you’ll walk through throughout the event where they have scare actors or other elements that will keep you on your toes.
9. Zombieball Experience
Face off against zombies in this lightweight gellyball experience (essentially paintball with zombies).
Food And Vendors At LIGHTS OUT Fearplex
There are a couple food stands as well as vendors for shopping throughout the event.
You’ll find a lot of Halloween costumes and accessories featuring all of your favorite spooky IPs.
They have cutesy Halloween stuff too.
The food is pretty basic.
They have chicken strips, hot dogs, nachos, and fries.
When we visited we tried the chicken strips and the loaded nachos, which were fine, but nothing memorable.
The themed desserts and drinks are much better and definitely worth trying on your visit here.
Some of the desserts include a brownie and a caramel cheesecake (and of course we tried both)!
For drinks, I recommend trying one of their IV bags.
Each one is a pre-mixed cocktail that comes on a lanyard and can be re-sealed, so you can carry it with you throughout the night.
Different flavors include the Blood Runner, Zombie Blood, and Bloody Sunrise.
Dates And Times For LIGHTS OUT At Fearplex
LIGHTS OUT takes place on Fridays and Sundays throughout October at the fairgrounds, plus a special night just for Halloween.
Dates and times include: October 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, 25-27, and 31 from 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm.
The hours are a little shorter this year, I’m sure it’s just because they’ve refined their system after premiering just last year.
Admission To LIGHTS OUT At Fearplex
General admission ranges from $29-$33 depending on the night you want to attend.
Keep in mind all admission, parking, and alcohol sales are card only, but some food stands might accept cash.
This event is recommended for those 13+ years old.
✅ Boos and Brews Combo Ticket
There are two events taking place at Pomona Fairplex at the same time – LIGHTS OUT and Oktoberfest.
They are now offering a combo ticket for just $29.99 so you can attend both for the price of one!
It’s recommended to use both tickets in the same night so you don’t have to pay for parking twice, but you don’t have to use it in the same night.
The only stipulation is that you have to use it the same weekend.
Additionally, don’t forget that LIGHTS OUT is recommended for ages 13+ and Oktoberfest is a 21+ only event.
If you don’t end up using both tickets they are not issuing any partial or full refunds.
✅ Parking
Parking is located at Gate 17.
If you purchase parking online in advance it is $21.10 (an increase of about $4 since last year).
But you can also wait and purchase parking at the gate, which is $25 (an increase of $3 since last year).
If you’re being dropped off or picked up by a rideshare service or a friend, you’ll go through Gate 1 on McKinley Ave.
