Roger’s Gardens Halloween Boutique

Roger’s Gardens is a very popular plant nursery in Corona Del Mar, California that has been around since 1965.

The Halloween Boutique opened officially on September 1st and runs through the end of the Halloween season.

Every year, the theme is different, with past years including:

  • 2018 – Hocus Pocus
  • 2019 – Malice in Wonderland
  • 2020 – A Pirate’s Life For Me
  • 2021 – Cabinet of Curiosities
  • 2022 – Nightmare

This year’s theme is The Witching Hour!

The Witching Hour Halloween Boutique at Roger's Gardens

The Halloween Boutique is decked out in all things witchy.

But the cool part is, most of it is for sale!

They have all the best Halloween decor for indoor and outdoor decorating.

The boutique experience is super immersive and is like shopping in a haunted house.

I recommend going early in the season before it gets too crowded in the shop (and to pick out all the best stuff before it sells out).

The shop is open daily from 9 am – 6 pm starting on September 1st.

It’s completely free to visit and parking is free as well.

If you’re visiting on the weekend, it may take a little while to get a parking spot and they may have a queue set up to enter the Halloween boutique.

When we visited over the holiday weekend a parking spot opened up within 5 minutes and we only had to wait about 10 minutes to enter the boutique.

✅ Roger’s Gardens Halloween Boutique Pumpkin Picking

You might as well pick up some pumpkins while you’re here too!

They’re spread out all over the property, so take your time picking out the best ones.

Back in 2019 we visited the Halloween Boutique for the “Malice in Wonderland” theme and decided to bring home a pumpkin to carve because I hadn’t done it since I was a kid.

So this pumpkin we picked out, we named him Franklin.

We got a light to put inside of him that changes colors and does strobe lights and everything.

It looked really cool when the red light was on.

We just got the supplies from our local grocery store for really cheap.

Roger’s Gardens probably has some pumpkin carving kits or tea lights to put in the pumpkins too.

Another place to check out would be a shop like Five Below.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but Roger’s Gardens Christmas decorations are also top tier and feels just as immersive as the Halloween Boutique.

When we visited in past years, the Christmas decorations were already up in another area of the shop so you may be able to check out both on the same visit!

When we visited the first day of the Nightmare Halloween Boutique, they were already working on the Christmas section of the store, though as of Labor Day weekend of 2023, the Christmas section is not set up yet.

✅ Roger’s Gardens Claim To Fame

Roger’s Gardens was such a well-known brand at the time that it attracted the attention of locals like Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and John Wayne.

To top it all off, Roger’s Gardens even holds a piece of Disney history!

The original Disneyland Bandstand was acquired by Roger’s Gardens in the 1970s.

It is currently still on display inside their restaurant, Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens.

✅ Roger’s Gardens Expertise

Roger’s Gardens was actually the first company to make signature mossed hanging baskets.

In the 80s, they even hosted the tv show “The Victory Garden”.

By the 2000s, Roger’s Gardens was committed to only selling organic gardening solutions.

They even held the California Friendly Garden campaign, which is now the standard for gardening in all of California.

That restaurant I mentioned that houses the original Disneyland Bandstand?

Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens just opened a few years ago in 2016.

It’s a sustainable, open-air restaurant that features seasonal and locally sourced foods!

It has quickly become one of the most popular restaurants in all of Orange County.

If you watch the Real Housewives of Orange County, it’s been featured on that show many times over the years.

✅ Roger’s Gardens Now

Roger’s Gardens has grown so much and is now the epicenter of educational seminars, events, and workshops on all things gardening and home decor.

Now where they really shine is the holiday season.

From the Halloween boutique to their Christmas decor, the holiday season is the best time of year to visit Roger’s Gardens.

Below are some photos from last year’s theme – Nightmare.
