1. The Pine Club

Location: 1926 Brown Street, Dayton, Ohio 45409

The Pine Club is a classic and has been serving up steakhouse favorites in Dayton since 1947.

The dark pinewood paneling and dimmed lighting make this the perfect spot for a date night.

I highly recommend trying one of their Pine Club private label wines.

They have a wide variety of wines like Merlot, Pinot Noir (JP’s favorite), Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay.

2. Oakwood Club

The Oakwood Club is another classic steakhouse in Dayton.

They’ve been around since 1962.

In addition to the traditional steakhouse favorites, they have a selection of 7 specialty dishes like Parmesan Crusted Chicken and Garlic Chive Wine Sauce, served over a bed of fettuccine pasta and Garlic Shrimp and Linguine with Twin Filet Mignons.

3. J. Alexander’s

Location: 7970 Washington Village Dr. Dayton, Ohio 45459

J. Alexander’s is a modern, upscale restaurant.

While they’re not on the current menu, we had cheeseburger egg rolls at the location near Philadelphia a couple years ago that were the perfect appetizer.

For dinner, I highly recommend their filet mignon with béarnaise that also comes with a loaded baked potato.

Portions are always so huge at restaurants that we like to share a couple different things rather than each of us getting an entrée.

Add a side of the not your ordinary mac n cheese to round out your meal.

For dessert, if they have it when you’re there, I recommend their key lime pie.

4. Club Oceano

Location: 4429 Cedar Park Drive, Beavercreek, Ohio 45440 (The Greene)

Club Oceano is a seafood restaurant and bar at The Greene in Beavercreek.

They have all of our go-to appetizers like lobster bisque, clam chowder, and crab cakes.

If you haven’t tried very much seafood, you can’t go wrong with Chilean sea bass or the shrimp and grits.

They serve a handful of steaks and pastas too like filet mignon, lobster mac n cheese, and pasta carbonara.

Location: 453 Miamisburg Centerville Road, Dayton, Ohio 45459

The Melting Pot is a national chain with only 4 locations throughout Ohio.

It’s a fondue restaurant, so you’ll have a bit more of an interactive dining experience at this place.

They currently offer a 5 course VIP experience that is perfect for a romantic date night or anniversary celebration.

You’ll get your choice of a bouquet of flowers you’ll get to keep and dessert will be the popular Chocolate Explosion Fondue.

6. Carvers

So if you’re looking for a unique date night or to try some new things, this is the place for you.

8. The Chop House

Location: 7727 Washington Village Drive, Washington Township, Ohio 45459

The Chop House is a small chain in Tennessee and Georgia, except for this one location in Dayton.

It’s another classic steakhouse that serves all the traditional meats and sides.

They also some of our favorite appetizers like mozzarella sticks, deviled eggs, and onion rings.

There are also a ton of sides and seafood options to choose from too.

9. Jay’s Seafood Restaurant

Location: 225 E 6th Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402

Jay’s Seafood has been voted the best seafood restaurant in Dayton.

They’ve been in the historic Oregon District since 1976.

While it’s a little more casual than the other places on this list, the historic setting and the type of food served make it a great place for a romantic night out.

I recommend trying the Greek Style Swordfish or the Spiced Bourbon Salmon.

There are also some seafood platters to choose from that would be great for sharing.

Save room for the Four Yums dessert which includes slices of Key Lime Pie, Cheesecake, Bourbon Pecan Pie, and Flourless Chocolate Cake.
