Stallion Springs Resort Tehachapi Review (2025)

Want to know what it’s like to stay at Stallion Springs Resort in Tehachapi, California?

Stallion Springs Resort is a timeshare property in Tehachapi, California.

Tehachapi is just north of the LA area on the other side of the mountains almost as far as Bakersfield.

It’s usually about a 2 hour drive from the LA and Orange County areas.

We consider it an off the beaten path destination since most locals seem to have never heard of it, but it’s a cute, small town with a ton of history.

Stallion Springs Resort Review

We stayed at Stallion Springs Resort as part of a Resort Vacation Certificate we were gifted through Wyndham Destinations from when JP used to work for them.

I’m not really sure what company owns the property, but it seems to be available through a variety of timeshare rental sites.

I had seen this Stallion Springs many times on a variety of timeshare exchange sites and since it’s only about 2 hours away from where we live I had been wanting to check it out.

We finally booked a visit in early December last year as part of a work-cation.

Like many timeshares in the US, you don’t necessarily have to be an owner to stay here.

But this one isn’t on any of your typical third party booking platforms and isn’t available to be booked directly through their website.

You’ll have to go through your own timeshare or it’s exchange program.

Two Bedroom

When we stayed here we were in a two bedroom.

The only room options at this resort are one bedrooms and two bedrooms.

I’ve pulled some snippets from our YouTube video so you can get a better idea of the room layout and it’s amenities.

The rooms here are kind of like cabins, but they’re attached to a few other rooms.

Kitchen

What we love about staying at timeshares is that most have full kitchens.

We had a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, stove top, oven, and a variety of kitchen appliances.

The kitchens are also stocked with most of the utensils, dishes, cookware, and bakeware that you would typically need.

Sometimes we’ll bring a crock pot from home too for even more meal options.

The kitchen and dining table are definitely on the smaller side here, but it’s still functional for 2-4 people.

Living Room

The living room is really nice and spacious.

It definitely has a bit of a retro vibe, but we really liked it.

The fireplace makes it cozy and the tv is a decent enough size for the space.

The couch is very comfy as well.

Primary Bedroom and Bathroom

The bedroom itself is definitely small, but it was nice having an ensuite bathroom.

The room is definitely cozy and we had a nice view watching the snow fall.

My favorite feature is definitely the bathtub.

Most of the hotels we stay in don’t have jetted tubs, so we love trying out different timeshares since they usually have them.

The primary bedroom also has a washer and dryer in the walk-in closet.

It’s an odd layout, but it was actually pretty convenient.

Second Bedroom and Bathroom

The second bedroom is perfect as a kids room since it has 2 beds.

There is a second bathroom just outside of this bedroom that doubles as a guest bath and the bathroom for this bedroom.

Room Pricing

Pricing varies for this resort since the only way to book is through your timeshare or a timeshare exchange platform.

We booked our stay through a Resort Vacation Certificate from Wyndham Destinations, so our stay was free.

Some other platforms like Interval will have free certificates they give you throughout the year, where you just pay the resort fees or taxes on stays that you book.

For a week long stay, this could be anywhere from about $100-$350.

Some timeshares might actually do a direct booking through your own points system, which is widely different with each company.

Resort Amenities

Stallion Springs Resort has an outdoor jacuzzi on property that is open year-round.

There is also a pool about a mile away that guests have access to for a small fee that is open seasonally.

At the front desk you can rent movies, books, and games throughout your stay.

Other than that, there’s not a whole lot going on at this resort.

It’s mostly just a home base for exploring the surrounding area or just enjoying all the amenities in the room.

Overall Experience

Overall, we really enjoyed this resort.

The only complaint is that the cell service and internet service is not very strong.

So if you’re coming for a work-cation, that might not be possible unless you go to a coffee shop in town during the day to work.

This area can also get heavy snow and ice, which we experienced on the day we were leaving.

Cars were sliding off the roads and getting stuck, so be prepared for that if you’re visiting in the Winter.

We spent most of our time during our stay exploring the historic downtown Tehachapi area and some of the nearby tourist attractions like the Tehachapi Loop.

You can see our complete itinerary in our Instagram Story highlights.

Our Favorite Things To Do In Tehachapi

We personally enjoyed historic downtown Tehachapi and it’s German bakery and restaurant.

It’s also a great area for antique shopping and wine tasting.

I highly recommend Triassic Vineyards and Tehachapi Wine & Cattle Co.

Conclusion: Stallion Springs Resort Review

Stallion Springs Resort is the perfect off-the-beaten-path stay for Southern and Central Californians looking to get out of town and experience somewhere new.

There’s so much natural beauty in the area and the resort itself has everything you need if you just want to stay in.
