WorldMark Big Bear Review

WorldMark Big Bear is a great mountain resort that is nearby all of Big Bear’s best attractions.

My favorite part of the resort is the large hot tub underneath a gazebo.

It’s perfect for the colder weather since you won’t get rained on or snowed on and it’s so close to all the rooms that you won’t freeze on your way back to your room.

The fitness center and clubhouse are also great hang out spots with pool tables and other games.

Room Types

When we stayed here for a week, we were in a one bedroom villa.

You can check out the full room tour on our YouTube Channel.

There’s a ton of space in these rooms and it was perfect for a work-cation.

The full kitchen allowed us to have all of our meals during the day in our room while we were working.

There was also a grill on the balcony, so for dinner we would have cook outs each night.

The view here is really great any time of year, but if you visit in the Fall you’ll be able to see some of the leaves changing color.

It’s also a nice view in Winter after a fresh snowfall.

The living room was cozy with a fireplace and Murphy bed, however, the tv didn’t work too great.

When we would watch shows on ABC in the evenings it would freeze and cut out for several minutes at a time.

But if you’re coming out to the mountains, the tv probably isn’t super important.

What I most loved about our room was the dining room.

It had a huge dining room table with plenty of outlets to plug in my phone and laptop while working throughout the day.

Room Pricing

When we stayed here, we were using a one week vacation voucher given to us by our timeshare with Diamond Resorts (now owned by Hilton Grand Vacations).

Since WorldMark Big Bear is nicer than many of the resorts offered with that voucher, we were only able to use it for a 5 night stay instead of a 7 night stay, which was perfectly fine with us.

To activate the voucher we just had to pay $100 and then we had to pay taxes and fees on the stay, so overall we spent $180 for a 5 night stay at this resort, which was an amazing deal!

However, if you’re booking directly or through your preferred hotel search engine, rooms like ours tend to go for anywhere from about $150-$200 a night depending on the time of year.

Resort Amenities

WorldMark Big Bear has a pool and several hot tubs, a clubhouse with games and activities, and a fitness center.

When you check-in, they’ll also give you any info on anything the resort happens to be hosting during your stay.

There’s a scavenger hunt you can do where you have to find all the bear statues throughout the resort and you’ll get a prize once you complete the challenge.

You can also check out dvds, books, and games from the front desk during your stay.

Overall Experience

Overall, I absolutely loved my 5 night getaway at this resort.

When we visited it was the middle of June, so it was slightly cooler up in the mountains than back at home, but still warm enough for shorts and a t-shirt.

I loved having a full kitchen to cook my meals throughout the day and having a full sized refrigerator for my groceries for the week.

Being able to use the grill on the balcony was also nice for cook outs each night.

I also enjoyed going to the gym in the afternoon to cycle through the treadmill, elliptical, and bikes while watching the tv in there.

JP and I also went down to the hot tub each night before it closed and it was busy the whole time we were there except for the last night.

Really the only downside was that the tv reception was spotty and the bathtub could’ve been bigger/nicer since the bathroom area would have the space for it.

Our Favorite Wyndham Timeshare Resorts

Between Club Wyndham and WorldMark by Wyndham, we’ve been able to visit a handful of timeshare properties around the US and these are our favorites.

For reference, Club Wyndham is considered higher-end and tends to be in major cities, whereas WorldMark tends to be more mid-range and in more outdoorsy destinations.

But they’re all under the Wyndham umbrella and can usually be used interchangeably.

✅ Club Wyndham La Cascada (San Antonio)

While La Cascada is one of the pricier Club Wyndham properties, it’s on par with the neighboring hotels and resorts.

This resort is right along the San Antonio Riverwalk, so you’re paying for your access and convenience to all of San Antonio’s most popular attractions.

The rooms are really nice, have full kitchens and a jacuzzi, plus a balcony overlooking the city.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom on our visit and shared a complete review of our experience.

You can also check out the full room tour on our YouTube channel.

✅ Club Wyndham Avenue Plaza (New Orleans)

Club Wyndham Avenue Plaza is a neat hotel in the Garden District of New Orleans.

With the city being as old as it is, the rooms are a bit smaller than most Club Wyndham properties, but it’s decorated nicely to fit the theme of New Orleans.

During Mardi Gras this hotel is right on the parade route.

There’s also a street car stop right out front that’s a quick ride into the French Quarter.

Club Wyndham Avenue Plaza

✅ Club Wyndham National Harbor (Washington, D.C.)

This resort is actually in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC.

It’s again one of the more expensive properties due to it’s location, but the rooms are much larger than other city destinations.

It’s centrally located in National Harbor, surrounded by shops and restaurants.

We booked a one bedroom when we stayed here, but we received a complimentary upgrade to a two bedroom unit that was amazing.

Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC

✅ Club Wyndham Shawnee Village (Poconos, Pennsylvania)

Now for another affordable option!

This resort is made up of a bunch of cabin-like buildings spread throughout the property.

We stayed in a one bedroom that was very spacious, had a fireplace, and came with a full kitchen and in-unit laundry.

This was one of my favorite places because it was quiet, near all the activities in The Poconos, and you get way more for your money at this resort than the city destinations.

WorldMark Angels Camp

Angels Camp is in Northern California’s gold country near Yosemite National Park.

The WorldMark resort here is like a rustic mountain lodge, complete with cozy fireplaces in each unit.

We love staying up there to unplug and enjoy nature.

Big Trees State Park in California

WorldMark Indio

WorldMark Indio is in a suburb on the outskirts of the Greater Palm Springs area.

We love this resort for it’s pool with a lazy river and how spacious the rooms are.

It’s also way more affordable than the simple hotel rooms in Palm Springs, while also having more amenities like a full kitchen.

Conclusion: WorldMark Big Bear Review

WorldMark Big Bear is a great place to stay on your Big Bear Lake getaway.

It’s near all of Big Bear’s best attractions and it’s a great stay any time of year.

The price for the amenities is a steal with a full kitchen, in-unit laundry, a full sized dining room, and a separate bedroom.
