Want to know what it’s like to stay at Club Wyndham La Cascada in San Antonio? We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know in this review!

We recently purchased a sample package with Club Wyndham, which is a timeshare company.

They offered 400,000 points that we could use over the next 2 years.

We knew it would be a great short term investment since we are spending a lot of time on the road.

With JP working from home it’s been nice to be able to stay places with separate rooms.

This way we can both get our work done in peace.

Club Wyndham La Cascada One Bedroom Review

Club Wyndham La Cascada is the first place we used our points.

This stay is what really kicked off our Ultimate US Road Trip since it was our first destination of this road trip.

It is located on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.

It was a little bit more points per night than we would have liked to use though.

But we were specifically in San Antonio to visit with my sister and her kids, so we didn’t have much of a choice.

At least since it was a last minute booking the points were heavily discounted.

One Bedroom At Club Wyndham La Cascada

The room we booked was a 1 bedroom since that is the smallest option they had, making it the cheapest as well.

It has a full kitchen, which we used to not care about at all.

But since this trip we were traveling for 2 months, we knew we’d be wanting to cook some meals for ourselves.

With JP working in the middle of the day we also weren’t able to get out for dinner on those days, so we had bought a bunch of groceries before we left.

Having the full kitchen was nice so that we had a fridge and freezer large enough for food for the 4 days we were there.

I also loved having more than just a microwave to cook with because we were able to make spaghetti on the stove top.

Also some packaged foods just taste better on the stove top or in the oven rather than the microwave.

The one thing I look forward to the most when we check into a new room is if they have a jacuzzi!

I always travel with bath bombs or Epsom salts just in case we have a nice tub I’m able to use them in.

On this 2 month trip, the vast majority of places we stayed had them, so I was in heaven.

Parking In San Antonio

One thing I dislike about being in the city is that you usually have to pay for parking.

Luckily for us they only charged us $20 for our whole stay.

I think normally it’s $20 a night.

What was weird about this place though is that you had to have Valet physically let you in and out of the garage.

Since we were there during Covid restrictions, valet wasn’t allowed to drive anyone’s car.

We never use Valet anyway, so that didn’t matter to us.

So we weren’t waiting for Valet to get our car, we were waiting for them to key us in to the garage and then they had to open the gate for you to leave.

It was only a minor inconvenience though.

We just had to plan to leave 5-10 minutes earlier if we had somewhere to be at a certain time and plan to be back 5-10 minutes earlier for JP to work each day.

Things To Do When You’re Staying At Club Wyndham La Cascada

On the plus side, this hotel is right on the Riverwalk.

So if you’re just going out for lunch you don’t need your car at all.

Our first night here we were able to do a late dinner at Waxy O’Connor’s Irish Pub since it was one of the few places open until 11 pm.

On another day my sister and her kids met up with us at the Riverwalk and we ate at the Republic of Texas restaurant.

Club Wyndham La Cascada is technically within walking distance to The Alamo as well.

So if you’re sightseeing around the downtown area you won’t need your car.

We spent one morning doing all of that and it was a lot of walking by the time we got back to the room.

But definitely do-able.

More Great Club Wyndham Properties To Stay At

Club Wyndham has world-class properties all around the US.

We’ve been able to stay at quite a few over the years and these are the ones we recommend.

Club Wyndham Shawnee Village (The Poconos)

Shawnee Village is a wonderful collection of 1+ bedroom cabins.

It’s secluded in the mountains and there’s plenty to do nearby.

Club Wyndham Shawnee Village

Club Wyndham Avenue Plaza (New Orleans)

Avenue Plaza is directly on the trolley line to the French Quarter and it’s on the Mardi Gras parade route.

It’s smaller since it’s in an older building, but it’s very authentically designed.

Club Wyndham National Harbor (Washington DC)

National Harbor is a small downtown area in Maryland minutes from Washington DC.

It was nice having everything we needed in walking distance and being able to venture out into DC during the day.

WorldMark Angels Camp

Angels Camp is in Northern California’s gold country near Yosemite National Park.

The WorldMark resort here is like a rustic mountain lodge, complete with cozy fireplaces in each unit.

We love staying up there to unplug and enjoy nature.

☑ WorldMark Indio

WorldMark Indio is in a suburb on the outskirts of the Greater Palm Springs area.

We love this resort for it’s pool with a lazy river and how spacious the rooms are.

It’s also way more affordable than the simple hotel rooms in Palm Springs, while also having more amenities like a full kitchen.

Worldmark Big Bear

WorldMark Big Bear is located in the mountains just outside of LA.

It’s vastly different whether you visit in the Summer months or the Winter months depending on the activities that interest you.

☑ Legacy Golf Resort (Phoenix)

Legacy Golf Resort is a fantastic place to vacation in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area.

It’s centrally located to a lot of activities, while also being secluded.

Conclusion: Club Wyndham La Cascada One Bedroom Review

Overall, this is a very nice hotel with really nice rooms.

It is right in the center of town to do a lot of the main attractions in San Antonio.

You’re definitely getting what you pay for here.

So it’s a bit of a splurge.

But it’s worth it for the location and the amenities.

We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to San Antonio!
