Want to know what it’s like to stay in a Club Wyndham Shawnee Village cabin? We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know in this review.

On one of our last legs of our Ultimate US Road Trip, we spent a few nights in the Poconos at Club Wyndham Shawnee Village.

Neither of us had ever been to the area before.

It wasn’t necessarily on our bucket list, but it was conveniently on our way from Cape Cod to Ohio and there were very cheap timeshare properties available.

So a bunch of things fell into place to allow this part of the trip to happen.

You can see a full walkthrough of our cabin in this video on our YouTube Channel.

So under the Wyndham timeshare umbrella, there’s Club Wyndham and then there’s Worldmark by Wyndham.

Each timeshare has a distinct difference in it’s properties.

I wouldn’t necessarily call Worldmark the lower end, but the biggest difference to me is that Worldmark is generally in the woodsy or mountainous type vacation destinations.

Whereas Club Wyndham is usually your city destinations like New York City, Washington DC, etc.

In this instance, we would have thought this would be a Worldmark property, but for whatever reason it is part of Club Wyndham, so we were able to book it with our sample timeshare.

This property is CONSIDERABLY cheaper than just about every other Club Wyndham property.

Think more along the terms of the equivalent of $100 a night versus $250 a night timeshare accommodations.

✔ About Club Wyndham Shawnee Village

This property is an acquired property, meaning Wyndham didn’t build or create this property themselves.

They purchased it either from another timeshare company or acquired it through the purchase of a timeshare company entirely.

The front desk is located at one place, with mini golf and other activities.

In one direction down the road you have the sales center where they do their timeshare presentations.

If you head down the other direction, that is where all the cabins are.

The property is separated by multiple “villages” or clusters of cabins.

What I thought was nice was that these weren’t set up as individual unit cabins.

They would have a single cabin building with at least 2-3 units within it.

Completely separate of each other of course.

So you’ll notice in the video that the cabin looks huge to be a 1 bedroom unit, but it’s because there’s multiple separate units built into the one cabin.

Some amenities here include a pool and hot tub, mini golf, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a fitness center, a children’s playground, an activities program, a game room, a picnic area, a barbecue area, and a gift shop.

What we love about staying in timeshare units when we can is the amenities.

Since JP was still working throughout this trip, we needed more than just a regular hotel room could offer.

We had a full kitchen, so we could make dinner each night.

JP would work about 2:30 pm to 11 pm, so we would go out in the mornings and early afternoon to explore and have lunch.

But then we were essentially confined to our room the rest of the night.

We also had a full dining room and a cozy living room.

So JP could work out there, while I worked or just relaxed from the bedroom.

We also usually had a bathtub in most timeshare units, so I was able to take Epsom salt baths when I wanted.

Another plus was in-unit laundry!

Being on the road for 2 months, we had to do laundry wherever we could.

Our stays were spaced out perfectly to be able to do laundry whenever we had in-unit washers and dryers.

How Is The Internet At Club Wyndham Shawnee Village?

They had an internet outage while JP was working one day and tried to tell us the only thing we could do was pay for premium wifi to fix it.

So instead we just used our mobile hot spots until it was fixed.

Just be aware that being out in the woods, you might not have the best internet service and outages are possible any time, even there isn’t any inclement weather.

Is The Timeshare Presentation Worth It At Club Wyndham Shawnee Village?

Timeshare properties are notoriously pushy about forcing you into attending timeshare presentations.

They will throw all kinds of freebies at you to get you to go.

They will try to physically block you from leaving the building until you agree to go.

We agreed to go for the freebies and for the content I’d be able to share about it.

We know how to say no at timeshare presentations and we know how to not take their attacks personally, etc.

For attending, we got another free 7 night stay voucher which was the same one we had used in Cape Cod the week before.

JP used to get them when he worked for Wyndham so we knew exactly how they worked.

Things To Do When You Stay At Club Wyndham Shawnee Village

As nice as a cabin stay is to get away from it all, there’s still some areas outside of the resort worth visiting while you’re in the Poconos.

If you’re into exploring the outdoors, wine tasting, or gambling, there’s plenty for you to do here.

But if you’re extra adventurous, they have a mountain coaster!

More Great Club Wyndham Properties To Stay At

Club Wyndham has some great properties around the US that we explored all on one massive 2 month road trip around the country.

They’re all distinctly different, especially from Shawnee Village.

Club Wyndham La Cascada (San Antonio)

Club Wyndham La Cascada is right along San Antonio’s Riverwalk.

The interior of the room is upscale with a balcony overlooking the city.

Club Wyndham Avenue Plaza (New Orleans)

Being in an older part of town, this room is a bit smaller than other one bedroom timeshares, but the location can’t be beat.

It’s right on the trolley line to the French Quarter and if you’re here for Mardi Gras you’re on the parade route.

Club Wyndham National Harbor (Washington DC)

Club Wyndham National Harbor is located in National Harbor, Maryland, just minutes outside of Washington DC.

It’s in the middle of a small downtown area, so it’s walking distance to everything in National Harbor.

These rooms are large and we were actually upgraded to a 2 bedroom when we stayed here.

✅ WorldMark Angels Camp

Angels Camp is in Northern California’s gold country near Yosemite National Park.

The WorldMark resort here is like a rustic mountain lodge, complete with cozy fireplaces in each unit.

We love staying up there to unplug and enjoy nature.

✅ WorldMark Indio

WorldMark Indio is in a suburb on the outskirts of the Greater Palm Springs area.

We love this resort for it’s pool with a lazy river and how spacious the rooms are.

It’s also way more affordable than the simple hotel rooms in Palm Springs, while also having more amenities like a full kitchen.

✅ WorldMark Big Bear

WorldMark Big Bear is located in the mountains just outside of LA and Orange County.

It’s a great mountain getaway whether you want to enjoy the lake in the Summer or skiing in the Winter.

You can see a full walk-through of our one bedroom at this resort on our YouTube Channel.

✅ Legacy Golf Resort Phoenix

This is a resort that Club Wyndham shares with Shell Vacations.

It’s set back against the mountains of Phoenix and really feels more like a resort getaway than most of the other Wyndham timeshare properties.

Conclusion: Club Wyndham Shawnee Village Cabin Review

So other than the brief hiccup with the wifi and being bombarded about attending a sales presentation, the rest of our time here was great.

The property is very scenic and the room had all the extra amenities that made it feel like vacation.

Overall we were very pleasantly surprised with our stay in this area.

We loved the Poconos and we liked having a whole cabin, but there were a few downsides.
