Like most of you, I have always wondered how my life would unfold.
Growing up I had a plan of how I thought things would go.

My overall life goal was that I just wanted a job that would allow me to go to Disney World whenever I wanted.

Childhood and Middle School
Around the age of 12, I learned that Disney offers college internships as part of their “Disney College Program”.
I also learned a few years later that you can actually get a degree in Tourism.

High School and College Years
The only thing left was to decide where to go to college when the time came.
Not many schools actually offered Tourism degrees back in 2012, so my options were quite limited.
However, some of the schools that offered these programs were in top tier tourist destinations, so no matter where I chose, it would be a win in my book.
Then one day I got a postcard in the mail with palm trees that read something along the lines of “Wouldn’t you want to wake up to this every day?”.
It turned out that this postcard was from a college about an hour from Disney World.
I had never heard of it before because it was a smaller private school.
Coincidentally, my dad was temporarily stationed in Florida at the time.
This school was less than an hour from where he was living!
So the Summer before I started my senior year of high school, I was in Tampa with my dad and we scheduled a tour of the campus with the whole family.
Having gone to a high school that was on the smaller side, I had been drawn to smaller universities.
I didn’t want to go to massive state schools where you’re in a lecture hall with a hundred other people.
After touring the campus, I applied right away.
I was accepted right as my senior year of high school began and moved down there a year later.
My Dream Internships
When internship time came around during my junior year of college, I knew exactly what I was doing.
I was going to Disney World!
Conveniently, after I completed my first internship with Disney, they brought back their Summer Alumni College Program the following year.
So I got to intern with them AGAIN the following Summer in-between semesters.
When I graduated that Fall I decided I wanted to try interning at Disneyland this time.
I had always wanted to go and only visited very briefly the Summer before college.
Then I visited during my Summer internship and had this moment where I knew that was my next step.
So, against all odds (over 20,000 people applied and only 800 got accepted for Disneyland, with only 400 being provided housing!), all by myself with just a suitcase and a dream, I flew to California and made all my dreams come true.
At this point, I was 21 years old and it was the first time since I was 12 that I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do next.
Grad School + Meeting The Love Of My Life
When my internship was up, I went back to Orlando and started grad school and interned with Disney again so that I had housing and transportation as I transitioned back to life in Florida.
That first semester I was MISERABLE with life in general and with my internship.
But also because when I was in California, I had met someone that I had to leave behind because I had already made all these plans (and financial investments) to move back to Florida.
After a few weeks back in Florida I decided that after that semester was over, I was going back to California and I was going to make it work somehow!
I packed all my belongings in my car and drove to California by myself with no job lined up and moving into an apartment with 2 girls I had never met (but we did have mutual friends and they were working at Disneyland too, so it seemed like a pretty safe bet).
A few weeks later I started my first full-time job, while also doing grad school full-time online, and started dating my now husband!
This is when the next crossroads in my life would come about.

Fast forward a couple years and I’ve graduated grad school and I am happily married.
From this point, I had no more plans.
I had already done everything I set out to do.
I had the degrees, I had my dream jobs, and I had the dream guy.
What was I supposed to do with the rest of my life?
One day my husband had the genius idea that I should start a travel blog.
We wanted the freedom to travel as we please, but also the money to actually be able to do something with that freedom.

2023 UPDATE: I wanted to give this post a little bit of an update so that it doesn’t just represent one moment of time or just one moment of clarity.
This psychic reading was almost 2 years and I am still implementing lessons I learned.
