Horseshoe Center Strip Las Vegas Hotel & Casino Review – Formerly Bally’s (2024)

Want to know what it’s like to stay at Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally’s)? We’ve got you covered with this in-depth Horseshoe Las Vegas Review!

If you didn’t already know, the Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has been re-branded to the Horseshoe Center Strip Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.

Since this is still pretty new, you’ll probably hear these names used interchangeably for at least the next few years.

One of the first big renovation projects is to convert one of the towers to become part of Paris Las Vegas and to connect these two towers with a pedestrian bridge.

This is expected to be completed in 2024, but I haven’t found any new information yet since mid 2023.

Horseshoe Las Vegas Review

Over the 4th of July weekend, we decided to take another trip out to Las Vegas!

It’s just too loud at home with illegal fireworks exploding outside our windows and setting off every car alarm on the street.

Horseshoe (Bally’s) had the best deal for the holiday weekend, so let’s check out what they had to offer.

Horseshoe King Room Review

We opted for the standard King room since we didn’t need anything bigger or better.

We requested the highest floor possible, just because it’s quieter the higher off the street you are.

JP was working every day that we were there, so peace and quiet was a necessity.

Obviously you can’t do anything about who your neighbors are, but we had no issues luckily.

Horseshoe King Room Amenities

A huge bonus of this room that is becoming increasingly rare in Vegas is a functioning refrigerator!

Most properties have fully stocked the refrigerators so that you cannot put any of your own drinks or food in there.

They are weighted and monitored, so that if you try to take them out to put your own stuff in you’ll be charged for every single bottle you touch!

This is a small detail we forget about from time to time since most places we travel to don’t do this and we’ve been spending more of our vacations in timeshares with full kitchens.

This room however did not have a microwave.

So we were still not able to bring back any leftovers or cook anything for our lunches while JP was working.

We had ramen with us that we had been eating during our previous nights at Polo Towers and it never crossed our minds about regular hotel rooms not having all the amenities.

Instead we opted for a liquid diet of water and protein shakes, with the occasional nature valley bar until he was off work.

Then we’d go out for dinner every night to make up for it.

Horseshoe King Room Layout & Location

Here is a video of the King Room layout that we posted to our YouTube Channel.

We made the video when it was still being called Bally’s, but they have officially transitioned to the Horseshoe name.

As of now, this room is still exactly the same!

They are fairly newly renovated with nice amenities, a great work space, plenty of outlets, and a great view of the Strip!

When we had checked in we asked about a Strip view.

They said that would be in a different tower and have a surcharge of $20+ per night.

So we said no thanks and took what we were given.

Turns out it was a Strip view any way and a direct view of the 4th of July fireworks!

We had stayed at Bally’s once before just for 1 night I believe for our 2nd anniversary trip.

We went to Zion National Park for the weekend and then stayed in Vegas on our way home.

That time we had an AMAZING upgrade.

We had a huge tub and a corner suite.

Caesar’s Rewards Program

When you visit Las Vegas, I highly recommend joining the casino rewards programs.

Because even if you don’t gamble, all your other spending counts towards rewards for various things.

Horseshoe (Bally’s) is part of the Caesar’s rewards program.

What I love about using Caesar’s rewards is that they let you combine your rewards with a companion.

This let’s you get the best deal possible.

For example, JP is Platinum level with Caesar’s rewards, which is the 2nd tier.

He gets automatically bumped up because he is part of Wyndham Rewards.

My tier level is Gold, which is the starting tier.

Individually we each could only get a couple comp nights.

Together, we were able to book a 5 night stay at Bally’s over the holiday weekend with 3 nights comp’d.

We only had to pay for Friday and Saturday night!

✅ Las Vegas Strip 4th of July Fireworks

Since there were no fireworks in 2020, Las Vegas went all out in 2021.

Many resorts along the Strip were doing fireworks shows in sync with each other and we had front row seats from the comfort of our bed!

We were able to see the fireworks from The Venetian, Caesar’s Palace, Treasure Island, Resorts World, and The Strat.

It all began at 11 pm, so I was very happy to be able to watch these all from my bed.

Here is a look at the fireworks show where you can get a good sense of the view we had from our room!

Conclusion: Horseshoe Las Vegas Review (Formerly Bally’s)

So our overall thoughts are that Horseshoe is in one of the most perfect locations on the Strip.

You just head down the escalator and you’re in the middle of all the action!

It’s perfect for the average traveler/vacationer.

The downside was not having a microwave.

We used to never really use room amenities when we traveled until we started working while traveling.

We loved that it actually had a fridge we could use, but working 9-5 each day would have been nice to be able to microwave a meal.

A 30 minute lunch is hardly enough time to grab a meal and it’s unnecessarily expensive to have food delivered.

The other downside is that these windows were pretty useless.

When we had spent the previous week at Polo Towers (which is also on the Strip), we had ZERO outside noise coming in.

At Horseshoe we heard every siren, every horn honking, every psycho with a megaphone, etc.

JP had a job that required him to be on the phone throughout the day, so that was not ideal.

I have no idea why there was such a vast noise difference, but I’m guessing some double paned windows might do the trick!

I hope this Horseshoe Las Vegas Review allows you to see yourself enjoying your future stay here!
