These are the best steakhouses in Orange County.
1. THE RANCH Restaurant & Saloon
Location: Extron Building Ground Floor, 1025 E Ball Road, Anaheim, CA 92805
THE RANCH is a Michelin Guide restaurant in Anaheim.
They are consistently ranked as a top restaurant and top steakhouse in all of Southern California.
Some of their larger steaks include a 58 oz. Cowboy Ribeye, 40 oz. Delmonico, and 50 oz. Porterhouse.
Complete your meal with seasonally created dishes made with local and regional ingredients.
You also can’t go wrong with a glass of wine from their award winning wine program.
2. Anaheim White House
Location: 887 S Anaheim Blvd, Unit B, Anaheim, CA 92805
Anaheim White House is a Northern Italian Steakhouse that has been serving up iconic dishes since the 1980s.
They usually have menu specials throughout the year that aren’t permanent menu items, like the Osso Bucco pictured below.
But when this isn’t available, you can still enjoy their Angus Filet Mignon, T Bone Steak, Angus Steak, Braised Beef, Braised Rabbit, and more.
3. Five Crowns
Location: 3801 E Coast Hwy, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625
Five Crowns is part of the Lawry’s Prime Rib family and is one of my personal favorite steakhouses in Orange County.
They offer similar menus, but the difference here is that the restaurant is a replica of one of the oldest inns in England.
The signature meal here is the Prime Rib, which comes with Yorkshire Pudding, Creamed Corn, Creamed Spinach, and Au Jus.
I also recommend trying their Pride of the Crowns Salad and a side of their Mac n Cheese to complete the meal.
4. Selanne Steak Tavern
Location: 1464 S Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
Selanne Steak Tavern is in a converted historic 1934 home along PCH and is owned by NHL Hall of Famer and former Anaheim Ducks player, Teemu Selanne, along with Kevin Pratt.
Popular dinner options include their 8 or 12 oz Filet Mignon, 8 oz Flat Iron Wagyu, and the 14 oz Prime Rib Eye.
Their signature dish is the Lord Stanley Cut 38 oz Wagyu.
These are all served with seasonal marrow butter, as well as a variety of sauces on the side.
5. Summit House Restaurant
Location: 2000 E Bastanchury Road, Fullerton, CA 92835
Summit House is similar to Five Crowns in the English inn and tavern style design.
They are also known for their stockyards of Chicago prime ribs of beef slow roasted and carved to order.
These are served with classic Creamed Corn Au Gratin, Creamed Spinach, and an individual Yorkshire Popover.
Additionally, I recommend trying the 7 oz or 10 oz Filet Mignon which is oak wood grilled, with a roasted shallot port wine reduction and Gruyere Au Gratin Potatoes.
Or try the 22 oz bone-in rib eye USDA Prime Rib Eye Steak aged a minimum of 28 days, which is also oak wood grilled with Roasted Bone Marrow, Blue Cheese
Compound Butter, and Gruyere Au Gratin Potatoes.
6. Bayside Restaurant
Location: 900 Bayside Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660
In addition to their regular menu, Bayside Restaurant offers Steakhouse Thursdays.
This occurs every Thursday and consists of a special prix-fixe menu for $77.
For starters, you’ll choose a Caesar Salad or Soup of the Day.
As an entree, you can choose between the 16 oz Rib-Eye (with broccolini and potatoes), 14 oz New York Steak Frites (with parsley fries), 8 oz Filet Mignon (with seasonal vegetables and potato trio), or Oven Roasted Rack of Lamb (with a grain mustard port wine sauce, seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes).
All steaks are served with your choice of one of Bayside’s signature sauces.
These sauces include bearnaise, madagascan green peppercorn, red wine reduction, or herb compound butter.
Lastly, for dessert, you can choose any dessert off of the regular menu except for the souffle for two.
7. Bourbon Steak Orange County
Location: 1 Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, CA 92629 (at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort)
Bourbon Steak is Chef Michael Mina’s iteration of classic steakhouses.
Here you’ll find classic American dishes, with world flavors and dramatic flairs.
The most premium dish is their 50 oz mesquite wood fire grilled Snake River Farms American Wagyu Tomahawk.
Other steak dishes include the 28 oz Prime Porterhouse, 18 oz Prime Bone-In Dry-Aged NY Striploin, 16 oz Prime Delmonico Ribeye, 20 oz Prime Bone-In Dry-Aged Ribeye, and the 8 oz Black Angus Filet Mignon.
If Wagyu is more your speed, they’ve got plenty of that too.
Try the Hokkaido A5 Wagyu Ribeye by the ounce, with a 3 oz minimum or the 10 oz Mishima Ultra NY Striploin, 8 oz Snake River Farms Eye of the Ribeye, 16 oz Mishima Reserve Delmonico Ribeye, or the 6 oz Mishima Reserve Filet Mignon.
8. Hanna’s
Location: 22195 El Paseo, Unit 11, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688
Hanna’s is a steakhouse that offers USDA Prime Steak, American Wagyu, and Japanese Wagyu in a vibrant and friendly atmosphere.
They’ve been around since 2005 and have consistently rated as a top steakhouse in Orange County.
Enjoy $10 martinis on Martini Monday, $10 Tito’s and margaritas on Tito’s Tuesday, half off wines by the glass on Wine Wednesdays, and $10 well whiskey on Whiskey Thursdays.
9. Knife Modern Steak
Location: 25135 Park Lantern, Dana Point, CA 92629
Knife Modern Steak offers ocean view dining while enjoying California cuisine.
They are open at almost all hours of the day, beginning breakfast service at 6:30 am and offering a limited late night menu as late as midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Here you can enjoy a variety of dry-aged meats and fresh caught seafood.
I noticed in my research that a lot of times this restaurant will show up as “The Restaurant at Laguna Cliffs”.
These are the same thing!
10. Old Brea Chop House
Location: 180 S Brea Blvd, Brea, CA 92821
Old Brea Chop House is located in Downtown Brea and they serve classic steakhouse dishes with a modern twist.
If you join their email list, you’ll get access to loyalty rewards, special events, and even secret menu items.
Their steaks include a 16 oz Pepper Steak, 16 oz Center Cut Ribeye, 14 or 16 oz NY Steak, 6/8/10 oz Filet Mignon, and a 12 oz Marinated Skirt Steak.
If you’re really looking to indulge or maybe share with your partner, enjoy the Chef’s Cut selections.
Try the 20 oz Prime Ribeye Cap or the 34 oz Tomahawk Chop, both of which include 2 sides and Buttercake.
The Chef’s Cut selections also include the 16 oz Bone-In Filet Mignon, 20 oz Prime Bone-In Ribeye, and the 18 oz Delmonico.
11. Stubrik’s Steakhouse
Location: 118 E Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton, CA 92832
Stubrik’s Steakhouse is known for their specially aged steaks and comfort food favorites.
The bar is also a popular place to just come and hang out while enjoying a variety of uniquely crafted cocktails.
Additionally, up on their mezzanine level they have a lounge with pool tables.
They don’t take reservations, so they are first come first served only.
12. Gulliver’s Restaurant
Location: 18482 MacArthur Blvd, Irvine, CA 92612
Gulliver’s is similar in style to Five Crowns and Summit House.
They are also best known for their Prime Rib and 18th century England is a heavy influence here.
A claim to fame of Gulliver’s is that John Wayne used to frequent this restaurant and had a favorite table.
For their Prime Rib, they offer 3 cuts: Brobdingnagian, the biggest, best and bone in; Gulliver’s Prime Cut; and the thinly sliced Traditional English Cut.
Other specialties include in-house aged Steaks, and their Châteaubriand.
Be sure to pair your meal with their legendary cream corn and Yorkshire pudding.
Then finish off your meal with their signature English Trifle or some Bread Pudding, Raspberry Crème Brûlée, or Chocolate Lava Cake.
We ate here for their special Thanksgiving dinner and all of it was so good!
13. La Cave
Location: 1695 Irvine Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92677
Enjoy retro underground dining and entertainment in a romantic 1960s setting.
La Cave has been serving up only the best cuts of meat since Valentine’s Day of 1962.
It was also frequented by John Wayne.
All entrees include their fresh baked cheesy garlic bread.
Then you get your choice of crisp salad or savory soup du jour,
As a side you can enjoy rice pilaf, a twice baked potato, steamed broccoli, sautéed mushrooms or grilled asparagus.
14. Agora Churrascaria
Location: 1830 Main St, Irvine, CA 92614
Agora Churrascaria is a Brazilian Steakhouse that’s been in the area since 2005.
Brazilian Steakhouses are known for their all you can eat family style dining.
The menu here includes Picanha Top Sirloin-Cap, Bottom Sirloin, Chicken Pesto Kabobs, Garlic Picanha, Tri-Tip, Skirt-Steak, Bacon Wrapped Filet, Beef Short Ribs, Filet Mignon, Lamb Chops, Leg of Lamb, Chicken Drumstick, Pork Ribs, Brazilian Pork Sausage, Chicken Hearts, and more.
Sides include Brazilian Cheese Bread, Fried Bananas, a salad bar, Black Bean Stew (Feijoada), Chicken Stroganoff, Garlic Rice, Creamed Corn, Cremini Mushroom, Sautéed Collard Greens, Roasted Red Potatoes, and Mashed Potatoes.
15. The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar
Locations: 2647 Park Ave, Tustin, CA 92782 and 3131 W Coast Hwy, Newport Beach, CA 92663
The Winery is a steakhouse that serves California regional cuisine with a vibrant yet sophisticated setting.
Their steaks include an 8 oz Filet Mignon, 16 oz Double R Ranch New York Steak, 16 oz Double R Ranch Rib Eye Steak, and Slow Braised Angus Beef Short Rib.
If you’re feeling adventurous, they feature a nightly special of fresh wild game or fowl.
It can include anything from Organic New Zealand Venison, Elk, All-Natural Buffalo, Rabbit, Pheasant, Quail, Squab or Partridge.
Now the rest of this list of best steakhouses in Orange County isn’t any less stellar, but I wanted to cover the local and locally owned restaurants before getting into the major steakhouse chains.
16. The Capital Grille
Location: 3333 Bristol St, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 at South Coast Plaza
Their menu includes creations like the 14 oz Dry Aged NY Strip, 22 oz Bone-In Ribeye, 14 oz Dry Aged NY Strip au Poivre with Courvoisier Cream, and a 10 oz Filet Mignon.
In addition to their traditional steaks, they also offer a Chef’s Selection of steaks that are elevated dishes with a twist.
These include dishes like the Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions, Wild Mushrooms, and Fig Essence or the Porcini Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye with 15 Year Aged Balsamic or the Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged NY Steak Strip with Shallot Butter.
17. Ruth’s Chris Steak House
Locations: 2041 S Harbor Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92802 or 2961 Michelson Dr, Unit A, Irvine, CA 92612
I would say that Ruth’s Chris is probably the most popular fine dining steakhouse in the entire country because they are just everywhere.
I have never had a better Filet Mignon than the one at Ruth’s Chris in Palm Springs for our first anniversary dinner, though the photo below is from when we visited the Albuquerque location.
Whenever I get a craving for it, no other restaurant even comes close to satisfying it.
Their trick is that they use their perfected broiling method and seasoning techniques, ensuring each cut of USDA Prime beef arrives cooked to perfection and sizzling on a 500° plate.
18. Mastro’s Steakhouse & Ocean Club
Locations: 633 Anton Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 or 7845 E Coast Hwy, Corona Del Mar, CA 92657
The Costa Mesa location is a Steakhouse, while the Corona Del Mar location is the Ocean Club.
The steaks here are 28 day wet-aged USDA Prime Steaks that are cooked in a 1,500-degree broiler and served sizzling hot with clarified butter on plates heated to 450 degrees.
Mastro’s sets itself apart from much of the other Orange County steakhouses by enforcing a strict upscale dress code.
Indulge in True A5 Kobe Beef, 100% Tajima Cattle from the Hyōgo Prefecture, known as The Most Exclusive Beef in the World.
Or enjoy Filet Mignon ranging from 6 oz to 8 oz to 12 oz, including the 12 oz Bone-In Filet Mignon.
Other steaks include the 16 oz NY Strip, 18 oz Bone-In Kansas City Strip, 22 oz Bone-In Ribeye, 33 oz Chef’s Cut Ribeye Chop, or the 24 oz Porterhouse.
19. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

We enjoy visiting Fleming’s when they have special promotional periods like their Taste of Summer 2 Course Menu, Surf & Turf Sunday 3 Course Menu, or their 3 Course For 2 Taste For “Twosday”.
Their classic cut steaks include an 11 oz Main Filet Mignon, 14 oz Certified Angus Beef Ribeye, and the 8 oz Petite Filet Mignon.
Specialty cuts include a 16 oz Prime NY Strip, 20 oz Prime Bone-In Ribeye, 16 oz Prime Dry Aged Ribeye, and the 35 oz Prime Tomahawk.
20. Morton’s The Steakhouse

Morton’s is another Orange County steakhouse we like to visit when they have special promotional menus.
We’ve visited here for birthdays and anniversaries several times over the years.
