Want to know what it’s like to stay in a Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room? We’ve got you covered with this in-depth Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room review.

Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room Review

Polo Towers is a timeshare resort on the Las Vegas Strip. It was previously owned by Diamond Resorts, but has since become part of Hilton Grand Vacations.

As this takeover finalizes, some more changes may come about, but here is a Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room review now.

How We Got Our Free Stay At Polo Towers

Back in October 2020 we stayed at Polo Towers for the first time.

We have been to Vegas many times over the past few years, but had never stayed here or on this part of the Strip before.

When we were in Vegas back in August 2020, we attended a timeshare presentation with Diamond Resorts and we were offered a complimentary 2 night stay at Polo Towers.

We decided to use this complimentary stay in October 2020 since we knew we’d be going for the weekend for a birthday party anyway.

Originally we were supposed to be given a 1 bedroom suite, but for the weekend we were going they supposedly could only provide us with a studio efficiency room.

It was only the 2 of us so we didn’t think it would really matter.

We didn’t plan on spending that much time in the room anyway.

We were more so just there for its location on the Strip.

Also, we didn’t even end up getting the nights we were looking for when we booked.

We needed to be there the night of the 17th because that was the day of the birthday party.

The closest to those dates we were able to get was checking out that morning. So we ended up having to book another night at another hotel.

I was really surprised at this since when we visited in August 2020, Vegas was DEAD.

When we went back in October 2020 it was actually pretty packed, so I guess that’s why we couldn’t get the dates we needed.

Check In Experience + First Impression of Polo Towers

I believe we arrived at the hotel about an hour or so before check-in.

Most places it doesn’t really matter and usually a room will be ready.

I figured with this being a timeshare resort we’d have to leave our luggage there and just wait or pay money to check-in early.

Luckily they checked us in when we arrived and a room was ready.

After checking in we spoke with concierge about what amenities were available and what coupons they had.

They gave us a whole packet that we looked into when we got up to our room.

Is There A Pool At Polo Towers?

The pool was open, but at a limited capacity.

The explanation of their pool procedures was lengthy and seemed very involved.

But when we went up there there were just a couple families in the pool, an attendant in a tent, and we were just able to do whatever.

There wasn’t any sort of formal screening or guest counting.

It was way easier than they made it sound!

We sat up at the pool for a couple hours in a cabana since we didn’t have anything in particular to do for awhile.

It was nice being able to lay out in the cabana without having to pay a premium for it.

Most resorts tend to charge some hefty fees to use the cabanas.

I don’t know if they aren’t charging right now because of the reduced pool capacity or if it’s always been this way.

But it was a great unexpected perk.

The rooftop pools had great views of the other resorts on the Strip.

Concierge At Polo Towers

Back to the coupons though…

One of the papers in the packet listed all kinds of different restaurants where we could get a complimentary gift card or discount.

We were able to find a handful we would’ve used, so on our next trip out we stopped at concierge to ask about getting one.

It turned out, the only coupon they had available was 50% off the Brazilian Steakhouse across the street.

Don’t get me wrong, that is a great deal.

But we were originally being offered free $25+ gift cards for restaurants where we basically would’ve had dinner for free.

Not $100 even after the coupon.

We took the coupon in case we decided to go, but we never did.

There were many other cheaper options, like the Happy Hours I shared in a recent post.

One other paper we got from concierge was offering to add 1 night to our stay for free.

We were still within the window where we could’ve cancelled our other hotel for the last night and just stay at Polo Towers.

So we called the extension on the paper to ask.

They said since we were already staying on a complimentary 2 night stay we weren’t eligible for the additional free night.

So we thought “okay fair enough”.

But also, why did they give us all these papers at concierge offering all these freebies and discounts and then tell us we couldn’t have any of them??

That part made no sense, but those are just our “first world” problems I guess.

Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room

Now that you’ve heard about our overall experience, let’s take a look at the room.

First Impression of the Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room

My first impression was that it reminded me of an older European hotel room.

The amenities seemed very minimalist and simple, like IKEA furniture.

It didn’t really matter to us since we didn’t have to pay for it.

But I definitely wouldn’t ever pay more than $100 a night for this room.

Especially since there are some NICE places on the Strip for less than $100 all the time.

What size bed is in the Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room?

The bed could not have been larger than a full size bed.

We used to have one when we first got married, so I am very confident that that is what the bed size was.

There’s no way it could’ve even been a queen size bed.

Luckily I’m short and neither of us are heavy set because then we would’ve never fit in that bed.

At the time I even told JP, what do they do if a couple checks in and they literally cannot fit in the bed?

Do they have to comp them into a bigger room or do they wheel in a cot and tell them to figure it out?

If anyone has any experience with this specific hotel I’d love to know.

Because I have a feeling I know the answer and that’s not good to do to paying customers.

How Is The Bathroom In A Polo Towers Studio Effieciency Room?

The bathroom though had to have been recently updated.

It seems they put the whole room budget into making the bathroom nice.

My only complaint with the bathroom is that I love tubs.

I always bring bath bombs or bubble baths with me when I travel so I can have a good soak in the evenings.

It was disappointing not being able to do that for the 2 nights I was there.

Luckily, our other Vegas hotels we stayed in had awesome tubs.

So I still had some good bubble baths that weekend!

What Is The View Like In A Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room?

We also had a pretty okay view from our room.

We could see the Strip, but it was mostly blocked by the rest of the hotel.

The view doesn’t matter to us though since we can walk outside and see the Strip any time.

There were a few kids throwing around paper airplanes from their balconies while we were there.

I didn’t really have a problem with it at first, but they all did eventually make it to the ground.

The next day when we left the room no one had picked them up yet.

Overall Impression Of The Polo Towers Studio Efficiency Room

The location is fantastic. It’s across from the Cosmopolitan and is practically in the middle of the Strip. It was close to every place we wanted to go.

This is the #1 thing this hotel has going for it.

The room was also clean and not worn out in any way, so that was a plus.

We weren’t sure what to expect since the outside of the hotel is pretty plain.

They have a quote in their lobby about “underpromising and overdelivering” as their company’s philosophy. I definitely feel like they fell short in that area this time.

I think if we had gotten the 1 bedroom we were supposed to have, have concierge not give us all these papers with non-existent freebies, and had a room with a bathtub, we would have been 100% happy with our experience.

So for us it wasn’t really just one thing that wasn’t as expected, it was just one thing after another the whole time we were there that made it not as great of an experience as it could’ve been.

I would still stay here again though for the right price because of its convenience and the rooms are suitable for us.

But beware, the studio efficiency rooms are tiny! Definitely only book if you’re traveling solo or with one other person and you’re both average to small sized.
