Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel Review

We have seen the Beverly Wilshire so many times on our day trips to Beverly Hills, but this was the first time we actually got to go inside and see what it’s like to stay here.

Here is a deep dive about our entire experience from the layout and amenities of the Signature Room, to the hotel amenities, room pricing, and our overall experience.

Our Room Type – Signature Room (King)

The Signature Room is essentially the standard hotel room here.

These rooms can have either 1 King bed or 2 Double beds.

We chose the 1 King bed since it was just the 2 of us staying here.

The comforter, pillows, and mattress are so plushy and so soft, it’s my favorite hotel bed I’ve ever slept in.

I was even doing a bit of blogging work during our stay and the large pillows are perfect for sitting up in bed.

You can see that on each side of the bed is a set of outlets and adjusters for the lamps.

There’s even a reading light that can pop out if you need it.

The work space here was so nice.

On the right side there are outlets underneath the cover.

The chair is very comfortable and the leather top over the desk was also really nice.

The couch in the window was way softer than I was expecting it to be.

It’s very comfortable, even after sitting for a long time.

The view from our room included just a sliver of the edge of Rodeo Drive.

The building in the shade on the left is the main building of the Beverly Wilshire where you check-in.

Our room was overlooking the drive way entrance of the hotel.

view of nearby buildings from the room

This room included a nice, spacious closet, with tall mirrors on both doors.

There’s shoe cubbies on the floor and a shelf across the top too.

Below is a photo of the entry way into the room, looking out.

So to the left is the closet and the bathroom.

The door on the right I think is for if you have adjoining rooms.

Everything behind this picture is the rest of the room.

The Bathroom

Besides the bed itself, the bathroom was my favorite part of this room.

It was just beautiful to look at.

The bathtub was deep enough for enjoying a bubble bath.

I loved looking at this vanity so much.

As you can see, there are bath robes, lotions, soaps, and some additional toiletries like cotton swabs and makeup remover wipes.

Next to the bathtub is the stand-alone shower, which includes shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

The toilet is in it’s own separate room in the bathroom and even has a bidet attached.

In-Room Amenities

Our room had an espresso machine and cups as part of the mini-bar.

coffee maker with mugs

In the drawers, you’ll find everything you need from coffee pods, tea bags, creamer, honey, sugar packets, and a cork screw.

The other drawer has snacks that you can add to your room charge.

The mini-fridge is fully stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options, which can all be added onto your room charge.

The closet has some extra amenities too like laundry bags, slippers, and even a lint roller.

Room Service

On the table by the window is all of the room service menus.

I would say if you order anything at all, you should get the Pretty Woman breakfast.

It comes with a lot of stuff and is good for sharing.

The room service menu also includes a full kids menu that is available 24 hours a day.

The beverage menu includes wines by the glass, bottles of wine, and some cocktails.

It’s basically anything that’s not already in the mini-fridge.

Additionally, there is also a full liquor list on the back of the drinks menu.

alcohol menu

While room service is available 24/7, there are some menu items that have restrictions.

The full in-room dining menu is available from 6 am – 11 pm.

There is a separate late night menu that is available from 11 pm – 6 am.

On the other side of the menu is another full menu of juices, healthy options, baked goods, breakfast items, appetizers, and salads that are all available from 6 am – 11 pm.

When we stayed here, we ordered in room service for dinner.

Our meal came with some bread rolls and I think the one on the left might have had some rosemary or something in it.

With our meal came a side of fries.

JP had also ordered an Old Fashioned which is his go-to drink.

This one was really sweet and more like a typical cocktail than straight liquor.

For dinner, we shared the “DTLA Avocado Club” sandwich.

This thing was massive, so I was glad we had just shared one meal instead of ordering two.

For dessert, we shared this yummy slice of chocolate mousse cake.

Here’s a bird’s eye view of the room service cart that they bring the food in on.

Room Pricing

The Signature Room typically goes for about $1,000 a night whether it’s a week night or a weekend.

It tends to only fluctuate about $100 most nights, even on holidays.

Hotel Amenities

During our stay, we made sure to roam around the hotel to check out everything they have to offer.

Since it was New Year’s Day during our visit, there were still Christmas decorations up everywhere.

We listened to a live jazz band for a bit while we walked around.

Below is one of the hotel restaurants CUT.

It’s a Michelin recommended restaurant by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.

They’re only open for dinner a few days a week right now, but hopefully that will change in the future.

CUT Restaurant

CUT also has a lounge that’s open roughly similar hours as the restaurant.

It’s much cozier and has it’s own food menu.

Hotel Pool

Now for one of the icons of the hotel – the hotel pool.

It’s a great place to people watch when it’s not quite hot enough for a swim.

hotel pool

It’s much smaller than most hotel pools you’re probably used to, but remember the Beverly Wilshire is an older property and it’s in the middle of Beverly Hills.

So it’s a great use of the space that was available to them.

The pool has it’s own bar too with some lighter meals and snacks.

Overall Experience

Overall, we enjoyed our entire experience at the Beverly Wilshire.

Our first impression was pulling up to the hotel entrance, fully decorated still for the holidays on New Year’s Day.

hotel entrance decorated for Christmas

On our way to the lobby there were more decorations.

In the hallway where they have a floor to ceiling history of the Beverly Wilshire through the decades there were nutcracker decorations.

The lobby where you check-in also had some Christmas trees and polar bears.

Even when the lobby is not decorated for the holidays the decor and architecture is still stunning.

After checking in, we were headed up to our room.

The elevators look very old school, but very nice.

hotel elevator doors

I liked the 2 seats that were inside each elevator.

I think it’s the first time I’ve ever seen that in a hotel elevator.

Lastly, the hallway leading to the rooms had an interesting color contrast.

In the photo it looks to be some version of gray or white with black trim, but the color is a little more green in person.
